Controlled Atmosphere Storage Alleviates Hass Avocado Black Spot Disorder

As it was previously reported, black spot development in the skin of Hass avocado has been related to a decreased antioxidant defense system. The aim this study investigate effect different postharvest storage conditions on controlling targeting their system (non-enzymatic and enzymatic) skin. Four treatments (T1: regular air (RA) at 5 °C for 40 d; T2: controlled atmosphere (CA) 4 kPa O2 6 CO2 T3: 10 d RA + 30 CA T4: µM methyl jasmonate (MeJA) s CA) were tested incidence fruit from six orchards agroclimatic zones harvests. Then, two selected harvests, evolution total phenolics (TPC), capacity (AC) enzymes (catalase (CAT), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL)) monitored. Results revealed that disorder not associated an zone harvest stage. Immediate application (T2) during prolonged (40 d) under these TPC content remained higher compared other treatments. No clear role CAT, PPO, SOD, POD PAL observed. results obtained are value supply chain since performance evidenced will result reduction losses problem.
